The site is affirmed by physical and bacterial parameters to be listed as 'impaired' as indicated on the Georgia EPD 303d Impaired Waters list. This site is just across the street from site 2A. Most of the problems in A are also present in site B. There are steep banks on both sides of the creek which are being cut away at due to erosion. This site is right below a large culvert that channels the water from a heavy rain and propels it down stream at a much higher than normal rate causing severe incising of the stream. This stream is largely affected by the amount of flow from storm events. The first time we visited this site there was a sufficient flow in the creek because there had been a heavy rain the day before. By the time we went back for our final observation there was not even enough flow to test discharge. The incising of the stream is also affecting the trees along the banks by exposing their roots and creating an unstable foundation to support them. Several trees are leaning and are in danger of falling in the near future. The overall health of the trees sampled appears to be well while the main concern is root exposure.
